People like you and me are getting more health conscious by the day, and some of us even resort to buying expensive organic vegetables from supermarkets. Well here’s a thought. Why not grow these vegetables right from your own balcony?
You don’t have to stay in a landed house to do this. All you need is a small balcony (that most HDB has) a few small pots, and you’ll be amazed how easy it is to grow these vegetables. The best thing is that you’ll know its 100% pesticide free, and you can proudly tell your friend that this Bok Choy came from your balcony!
1) Bok Choy
The next time you’re cutting up some bok choy at home, don’t use up everything. Leave the bottom bit, and put it in a shallow bowl of water where there is sunlight. Change the water every few days and soon enough you’ll see new bok choy sprouting around the centre of the base!
Once you see a decent amount of regrowth, transfer the bok choy into a well-drained container and cover everything except the new regrowth with soil. Then move the bok choy to a cooler, shaded area.
